Since 1938 the Edison Park Community Council has been the place were dedicated residents come together to get involved in their community, shape its future, and have their voices heard.

Our Mission

The oldest neighborhood organization in the City of Chicago, the Edison Park Community Council strives to advance the civic and social welfare of the community with the goals of creating a vibrant neighborhood community and making Edison Park a more desirable place to live, build a life, and raise a family.


What We do

  • Provide the Edison Park Community Council’s Annual Betty Mateling Memorial College Scholarship

  • Organize forums on issues facing the community from local elections to potential zoning changes

  • Host monthly Community Council meetings

  • Host monthly Edison Park Community Council Book Club

  • Serve on the 41st Ward Zoning Committee

  • Host the Annual Senior Luncheon

  • Work closely with elected officials to address resident needs

  • Serve as an important link between residents and community groups, schools, churches, and government services
